Jennifer Wilder (Ashland/Ashland)# scored Marietta College women's soccer's first goal of the season but it came in a 2-1 non-conference loss to host the College of Wooster Wednesday (Sept. 8) afternoon. [

The Fighting Scots (2-2) took a 1-0 advantage near the end of the first half when Erin Davison scored a goal off an assist from Maggie Kehm in the 40th minute.
Marietta (0-3) tied the scoreboard on its first shot of the game, which came in the 55th minute. Junior forward #
Christina Tirpak (Galena/Olentangy)# sent a corner kick into the box and the pass was headed by Wilder past the Wooster keeper for the goal.
The Fighting Scots, however, broke the tie off a corner kick of their own in the 62nd minute. Mary Riney scored the game-winner with assists from Bri Fulmer and Davisdson.
Wooster's defense limited Marietta to just three shots, all on goal. The Pioneer defense faced 16 total shots, including eight on goal.
