Dustin Zimmerman (Hebron/Granville Christian Academy) scored his third goal of the season, but the Marietta College men's soccer team suffered a 5-1 Ohio Athletic Conference defeat against host John Carroll University Tuesday (Oct. 5) afternoon. [

The Blue Streaks (8-4, 2-0 OAC) dominated the possession against the Pioneers (0-9-3, 0-2 OAC), finishing with a 28-4 advantage in shots and a 9-1 lead in shots on goal.
Five different John Carroll players scored goals, which took place in the 11th, 34th, 51st, 54th and 81st minutes.
Zimmerman converted Marietta's only shot on goal in the 58th minute to tie him for the team lead with three goals in 2010.

Chris Stollar (Marietta/Marietta) took the loss in goal after allowing four goals in 57 minutes. Classmate
Bobby Thaxton (Milford/Milford) finished the game and gave up one goal. Both finished with two saves in the game.
Marietta resumes OAC play Saturday (Oct. 9) afternoon when it visits Alliance, Ohio, for a match-up with University of Mount Union at 12 p.m.
