ADA, Ohio — Sophomore libero #Jen Braun (Chagrin Falls/Kenston)# moved into fourth place on Marietta College volleyball's single-season digs list in a 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-17) loss at Ohio Northern University Saturday (Oct. 30) afternoon. [Box Score]

With the loss, the Pioneers close the season with an overall record of 9-20 and finished 1-8 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Polar Bears head into next week's OAC Tournament 17-11 overall and finished 7-2 in league play.

Braun entered the match needing 20 digs to overtake former teammate Becca Holzworth (North Olmsted/North Olmsted) for the fourth most digs in single-season history. The standout collected exactly 20 digs to give her a final total of 535, one more than Holzworth. Braun's 5.25 dig per set average also ranks fifth all-time in single-season history.

Freshman #Kathryn Hanssen# led Marietta's offense with a match-best 10 kills. Junior right side hitter #Meredith Storey (Olmsted Falls/Olmsted Falls)# and freshman middle blocker #Paige DeVriendt (Bowling Green/Bowling Green)# both contributed five kills in the match. Sophomore setter #Ally Jenkins (Twinsburg/Walsh Jesuit)# dished out 22 of the team's 27 assists in the loss.
