With the win, the Crusaders improved to 10-5-3 overall and 6-2 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Pioneers fell to 2-13-3 overall and 0-6-2 in league play.
Capital out shot Marietta 22-9 and held a 13-4 advantage in shots on goal.

Emily Jones (Loudon, Tenn./Northville (Mich.))#. Jones quickly fired a shot on the ground past the keeper and inside the left post for her first goal of the season to give the Pioneers a 1-0 lead in the 43rd minute.
Capital answered with a pair of goals in a span of 40 seconds early in the second half to take the 2-1 advantage. Katie Janz assisted the initial goal with a cross into the box that was finished with a ground shot by Holly Phillips in the 61st minute. Phillips then set up Natalie Fiorelli with a pass from the middle of the box to the right corner of the end line and the 18-yard box. Fiorelli followed with a shot across the face of the goal and into the far side of the net.
Fiorelli added her second goal of the game and ninth of the season in the 68th minute after she beat a defender and then chipped a shot over the outstretched arms of the keeper and into the back of the net to extend the Crusader lead to 3-1.

Kaitlyn Pearse (Galena/Olentangy Orange)# registered 10 saves, while Maggie Donnelon had three for Capital.
