MARIETTA, Ohio — #14 Heidelberg University defeated the Marietta College volleyball team 3-0 Saturday (Oct. 23) afternoon in Ohio Athletic Conference action at Ban Johnson Arena. [Box Score]

The first place Student Princes improved to 25-3 overall and 7-0 in league play with the 25-8, 25-10, 25-21 victory. The Pioneers fell to 8-18 overall and 1-5 in the OAC.

Junior right side hitter #Meredith Storey (Olmsted Falls/Olmsted Falls)# led Marietta's offensive attack with five of the team's 16 kills. Freshman middle blocker #Paige DeVriendt (Bowling Green/Bowling Green)# added four kills, while freshman middle blocker #Kathryn Hanssen# had three kills and two service aces.

Sophomore libero #Jen Braun (Chagrin Falls/Kenston)#, who also contributed three service aces, paced the defense with a match-high 15 digs. Junior outsider #Elizabeth Robbe (Crystal Falls, Mich./Forest Park)# collected eight digs and sophomore setter #Ally Jenkins (Twinsburg/Walsh Jesuit)# added seven digs to go along with her 11 assists.

The Pioneers remain at home Tuesday (Oct. 26) night when they play host to Capital University in a Dig Pink match at 7 p.m.
