The Pioneers (5-14, 0-3 OAC) were led offensively by junior right side hitter
Meredith Storey (Olmsted Falls/Olmsted Falls), who collected 10 kills, while freshman middle blocker Kathryn Hanssen had six kills and sophomore setter
Ally Jenkins (Twinsburg/Walsh Jesuit) added five kills. Jenkins also finished with a team-best two services aces and had 20 assists.

Jen Braun (Chagrin Falls/Kenston) was one of three Marietta players to collect double-digit digs and led the squad with 26 digs. Jenkins added 16 digs, while sophomore outside hitter
Alex VanGundy (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) contributed 13 digs. Hanssen also aided the defense with three total blocks in the loss.
The Yellow Jackets (15-8, 1-0 OAC) received 10 kills from Rachel Switalski, 22 assists from Casey Passen and 17 digs from both Chelsea Nissen and Natalie Emmons.
Marietta is back in action Friday (Oct. 8) when it visits Wilkes Barre, Pa, for a non-conference match-up with Wilkes University at 7 p.m.
