Chris Stollar (Marietta/Marietta)# posted his first career shutout to lead Marietta College men's soccer to a 1-0 victory over host Otterbein University Tuesday (Oct. 19) afternoon. [

Marietta's first shot of the game was enough to give the Pioneers (1-12-3, 1-5 OAC) their first victory of the season. Freshman midfielder #
Zach Hill (Lowell/Marietta)# fed a ball from the right end line into the middle of the box, and Zimmerman blasted a shot past the keeper and into the back of the net.
The Cardinals (2-13, 1-5 OAC) turned up their intensity with eight of their 12 total shots coming in the second half, including three in the final two minutes. However, Stollar and the defense maintained its poise and the Pioneers held on for the one-goal victory.
Stollar finished with four saves in the win, while Alex Kamphaus faced seven shots from Marietta and made one save in the loss.
The Pioneers are back in Saturday (Oct. 23) afternoon when they take on visiting Heidelberg University in a Senior Day match-up at 2 p.m.
