NEW CONCORD, Ohio — Marietta College sophomore libero #Jen Braun (Chagrin Falls/Kenston)# broke the school record for digs in a four-set match Wednesday (Oct. 13) evening during a 3-1 (25-22, 25-27, 25-15, 25-20) loss to host Muskingum University. [Box Score]

Braun collected 43 digs, which broke the previous record of 42 set by Casey Davis against Ohio Dominican on Sept. 2, 2006.

Four other Pioneer defenders joined Braun in registering double-digit digs. Sophomore setter #Dana Miller (Frazeysburg/Tri-Valley)# compiled 25 digs, junior outside hitter #Elizabeth Robbe (Crystal Falls, Mich./Forest Park)# had 19 digs, freshman defensive specialist #Amber Wiley (Brunswick/Brookside)# collected 16 digs and sophomore setter #Ally Jenkins (Twinsburg/Walsh Jesuit)# added 11 digs.

Junior right side hitter #Meredith Storey (Olmsted Falls/Olmsted Falls)# paced the offense with a season-best 17 kills, while freshman middle blocker #Kathryn Hanssen# contributed 12 kills. In addition, Miller dished out 18 assists, and Jenkins had 11 assists in the match.

Marietta (7-16, 0-4 OAC) is back in action Saturday (Oct. 16) afternoon when it plays host to Wilmington College at 1 p.m.
