TIFFIN, Ohio -- The Marietta College volleyball team opened its Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) slate with a 3-0 (26-24, 25-9, 25-22) loss to host #25 Heidelberg University Wednesday (Sept. 30) night. The victory improved the Student Princes' record to 16-4 overall and 2-0 in league play. The Pioneers fell to 13-6, 0-1 in the OAC. [Box Score]

Marietta sophomore right side hitter Meredith Storey (Olmsted Falls, Olmsted Falls) led the offense with 8 kills, while sophomore outside hitter Alex Weissling (Dublin, Dublin Scioto) and freshman outside hitter Amanda Sawicki (Mentor, Lake Catholic) both added 5 kills. Freshman setter Ally Jenkins (Twinsburg, Walsh Jesuit) dished out 23 assists in the match.

Senior libero Becca Holzworth (North Olmsted, North Olmsted) paced the defense with 11 digs, while Jenkins finished with 10 and Weissling had 9. Freshman middle blocker Sarah Campbell (Twinsburg, Twinsburg) added a team-best three total blocks.

Marietta is back in action on Saturday (Oct. 3) when the Pioneers play host to Otterbein College at 1 p.m.
