WASHINGTON, Pa. — The Marietta College men's soccer team out shot host Washington & Jefferson College 18-11, but the Presidents were the only ones able to crack the scoreboard Wednesday (Sept. 16) night, resulting in a 1-0 loss for the Pioneers. [Box Score]

Washington & Jefferson (3-3) scored the only goal of the night in the 15th minute when Josh Weber found the back of the net from 18-yards out. Weber's goal was triggered by a teammate's shot, which was blocked by a Marietta player but landed at his feet.

Marietta (2-3-1) received another solid effort from sophomore goalkeeper Andrew Shannon (Cincinnati, Mariemont), who finished with three saves. Senior forward Kyle Muth (Twinsburg, Twinsburg) finished with a team-high five shots, while senior defender Delè Adedapo (Gahanna, Bexley) added four in the loss, the Pioneers' second in a row.

Marietta is back in action on Friday (Sept. 18) night when the Pioneers travel to Newport News, Virginia, for a match-up with host Christopher Newport University at 7 p.m. They will remain in Newport News on Saturday (Sept. 19) and take on Methodist University. That game is also slated for 7 p.m.
