CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. — Marietta College suffered a 2-1 setback on the road against host Thomas More College Sunday (Sept. 13) afternoon in non-conference men's soccer action. The loss dropped the Pioneers' record to 2-2-1, while the Saints improved to 3-1 on the season. [

Thomas More out shot Marietta 18-12 overall and had an 8-2 lead in shots on goal. The Pioneers managed to hold a 9-7 edge in corner kicks.
Neither team could break through the other's defense for the first 41 minutes. Mark Uhl finally have his team the 1-0 advantage after scoring a goal, which was assisted by teammate Dan Miller.

Seita Kawamoto (Ebina, Kanagaua, Japan) set up classmate
Kyle Muth (Twinsburg, Twinsburg) for the equalizer in the 60th minute. The goal was Muth's fourth of the season and gave him 30 for his career. For Kawamoto, it was his first assist of the fall.
Thomas More made the most of a free kick in the 71st minute, as Miller found teammate Ricky Barria, who scored the game-winner with a header into the back of the net.

Andrew Shannon (Cincinnati, Mariemont) finished with six saves in the loss, while Zack Lawson turned away one shot in the victory.
The Pioneers will look to regroup when they return to the road for a non-conference match-up at Washington & Jefferson College on Wednesday (Sept. 16) night. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.in Washington, Pa.
