Aleisha Guiler (Lower Salem, Monroe Central) finished with a double-double of her own, scoring a game-high 18 points to go along with 15 rebounds. Senior wing
Whitney Swain (Belpre, Warren Local) added 10 points and 5 boards, while freshman wing
Alyson Stalter (Marietta, Marietta) contributed 8 points in the game.
Jennings dominated the contest, scoring a game-high 18 points while pulling down 14 rebounds and dishing out 10 assists. Sureck finished with 17 points, 16 boards and 4 blocks. In addition, Candice Shorts and Taylor Christner came off the bench to added 15 and 11 points, respectively.
John Carroll (6-5, 3-2 OAC) jumped out to a 24-5 lead as Marietta (2-8, 0-3 OAC) hit just 1 of 22 shots from the floor over the first 11:24 of the game. The Blue Streaks cruised into intermission on top 40-16.
The Pioneers opened the second half on a 7-0 run to cut the deficit to 17 points, 40-23. John Carroll, however, regrouped and continuously built its lead back up en route to the victory.
Marietta is back in action on Saturday (Jan. 2) afternoon when the Pioneers visit Berea for a match-up with host Baldwin-Wallace College at 3 p.m.
