MARIETTA, Ohio — The Marietta College women's soccer team fell 3-0 to visiting #12 Otterbein College Wednesday (Oct. 7) afternoon at Marietta Field. The victory improved the Cardinals' record to 10-1 overall and 2-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Pioneers fell to 3-6-1, 0-2 in league play. [

Otterbein dominated the possession throughout the 90-minute affair, out shooting Marietta 35-2 overall while holding a 15-1 advantage in shots on goal and 14-0 lead in corner kicks.
The Cardinals broke through the Pioneers' defense in the 27th minute.
Adrienne Novak had the ball at the near post inside the 18-yard box and passed it to teammate
Megan Cooper at the opposite post. Cooper then fired a shot inside the near post for her first goal of the year.
Novak and Cooper hooked up again in the 35th minute. This time, Novak sent a ball to the Cooper just outside the 6-yard box and Cooper headed the ball into the top right corner of the net to put the Cardinals on top 2-0.

Ashley Payne open inside the box. Payne received the pass and headed the ball off the Marietta keeper's hands and over the goal line for her first goal of the year.
Marietta is back in action on Friday (Oct. 9) afternoon when the Pioneers visit University Heights for a 4 p.m. match-up with John Carroll University.
