MARIETTA, Ohio — The Marietta College volleyball team remained undefeated on its home floor with a 3-0 victory over visiting Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) foe Otterbein College Saturday (Oct. 3) afternoon at Ban Johnson Arena. The Pioneers won 25-16, 25-18 and 25-21 to improve to 14-6 overall, 7-0 at home and 1-1 in the OAC. The Cardinals fell to 16-3 overall and 0-1 in league play. [

Ray Costa's team set the tone for the afternoon by hitting 44.8% (14-1-29) in the opening set. The Pioneers continued to control the momentum in set two and took advantage of some Cardinal hitting errors to secure the sweep in set three.

Ally Jenkins (Twinsburg, Walsh Jesuit) dished out 22 assists in the match, bringing her season total to 592 assists. Jenkins also added 5 key kills and 1 service ace against Otterbein. Sophomore right side hitter
Meredith Storey (Olmsted Falls, Olmsted Falls), Marietta's top attacker over the last 10 matches, once again paced the offense with 10 kills. Sophomore outside hitter
Alex Weissling (Dublin, Dublin Scioto) and freshman outside hitter
Amanda Sawicki (Mentor, Lake Catholic) both added 7 kills on the day. Weissling and senior libero
Becca Holzworth (North Olmsted, North Olmsted) also contributed 2 service aces apiece in the match.
Holzworth, who has moved into second place on Marietta's all-time list with 1,591 career digs, led the Pioneers with 12 digs against the Cardinals. Jenkins added 11 digs, while senior defensive specialist
Katy Williams (Richmond, Ind., Richmond) had 10. Freshman middle blocker
Sarah Campbell (Twinsburg, Twinsburg) contributed to 4 of the team's 5 total blocks in the match.
Marietta will look for its 15th win of the season when its travels to New Concord, Ohio, on Tuesday (Oct. 6) night for a 7 p.m. match-up with rival Muskingum University.
