TIFFIN, Ohio — The Marietta College men's soccer team opened Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play with a 2-1, overtime loss at Heidelberg University Saturday (Oct. 3) afternoon. The Pioneers fell to 2-8-1 overall and 0-1 in the OAC. The Student Princes improved to 6-3-1 overall and 1-0 in the OAC. [

Heidelberg broke a scoreless tie with a goal in the 61st minute.
Grant Beck scored his second goal of the season on a shot from 6-yards out.
Marietta sent the game into overtime by scoring the equalizer in the 82nd minute. Senior defender
Delè Adedapo (Gahanna, Bexley) sent a cross to senior forward
Seita Kawamoto (Ebina, Kanagaua, Japan), who headed the ball inside the near post for his second goal of the season. It was Adedapo's second assist of the year. The goal was also the first for the Pioneers since Sept. 13, a stretch that covered six games.
The Student Princes broke the tie and scored the game-winner in the 99th minute. Michael Juart caught the Pioneers' goal out of position and drilled a shot from 22-yards out to give his squad the 2-1 victory.

Andrew Shannon (Cincinnati, Mariemont) made 7 saves, while Heidelberg's
Ryan Smith had 5 in the game. Heidelberg out shot Marietta 22-7 overall and 9-6 in shots on goal.
The Pioneers will look to snap their 7-match losing streak when they visit Otterbein College on Tuesday (Oct. 6) at 4 p.m.
