MARIETTA, Ohio — The Marietta College men's soccer team fell at home 1-0 to visiting Baldwin-Wallace College Saturday (Oct. 24) afternoon at Marietta Field. The victory improved the Yellow Jackets' record to 10-6-1 overall and 5-1-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Pioneers fell to 5-11-1, 3-4 in the league. [Box Score]

Baldwin-Wallace gained the lead with a goal in the 31st minute. Pat Brennan carried the ball to the end line on the near side before sending a cross back into the box, which found the head of Carlin Vandendriessche, who calmly redirected it into the back of the net for his 13th goal of the season.

The Yellow Jackets out shot the Pioneers 12-6 in the first half and 21 to 18 overall.

Marietta sophomore Andrew Shannon (Cincinnati, Mariemont) had 8 saves in the game, while Baldwin-Wallace's Russ Mika finished with 6 saves.

Marietta begins its final week of the regular season on Wednesday (Oct. 28) afternoon when the Pioneers play host to Mount Union College. Kickoff at Marietta Field is slated for 4 p.m.
