Volleyball swept by host Mount Union

ALLIANCE, Ohio — The Marietta College volleyball team dropped it second straight Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) match with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-11, 25-14) loss to host Mount Union College Tuesday (Oct. 13) night. [Box Score]

The Pioneers (15-8, 2-3 OAC) were paced offensively by sophomore outside hitter Alex Weissling (Dublin, Dublin Scioto), who finished with 10 of the team's 23 kills on the night. Freshman setter Ally Jenkins (Twinsburg, Walsh Jesuit) was held to just 16 assists in the match.

Senior libero Becca Holzworth (North Olmsted, North Olmsted) added to her school record total with a team-high 15 digs. Freshman outside hitter/defensive specialist Jen Braun (Chagrin Falls, Kenston) added 10 digs, while sophomore middle blocker Jessie Blackley (Aurora, Aurora) had 5 total blocks in the loss.

The Pioneers will look to bounce back on Saturday (Oct. 17) afternoon when the visit Baldwin-Wallace College for another OAC match-up. Action begins in Berea at 1 p.m.
