MARIETTA — Ithaca showed up to play on Saturday.
Seven Bombers had multiple hits — including four hits each by Dave Dasch and Brian Parrotte — to lead Ithaca to an 18-12 victory over Marietta on the second day of the NCAA Division III World Series at Pioneer Park.
Dasch had a triple and two RBI, while Parrotte had a double and three RBI. Ithaca's lead-off hitter Steve Graham went 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBI, while catcher Duncan McDonald went 3-for-5 with an RBI.
T.J. Gamba also had a big day at the plate going 3-for-5 with a homer, three RBI and three runs as Ithaca roughed up Marietta's pitchers for 21 hits.
Mike Middaugh struck out six Marietta batters, while giving up five hits and eight runs for the win. Marietta's Eric Shoup gave up eight hits and eight runs in two innings for the loss.
Roger Thompson, Mike Brandts and John Sudges each hit homers for the Pioneers (44-13-2).
