MARIETTA — Mark Talarico had a five-hit performance and Terry Mulholland struck out nine as Marietta defeated Eastern Connecticut State 12-6 in the NCAA Division III World Series on Sunday, June 5, at Pioneer Park.
 
Marietta catcher Jeff Chaney had a home run off Warriors' pitcher Ron Borsari, while Jim Pancher went 4-for-6 with two doubles and two RBI. John Hefner went 4-for-5 with a triple and Monte Duncan had three hits, three runs and two RBI.
 
The Warriors banged out 13 hits off Mulholland, including a 4-for-5 performance by Kevin Beaudoin. Sean Risley and Roger Dean each had two hits.
