MC closes out spring break trip with 6-5 win over Valpo

PANAMA CITY, Fla. — A four-run, last-inning rally lifted Marietta to a 6-5 victory over Valparaiso in the Pioneers' final game of their spring break trip.
 
Jon Shuler and Marty Sberna both went 2-for-3 with two RBI as the Pioneers improved to 13-5. Dave Thomas and Mark Talarico had MC's other hits.
 
Joe Gersna had a solo home run off Marietta's Terry Mulholland and Kurt Geese added a single and two RBI.
 
Steve Riley (1-1) didn't allow a hit, walk or run over the final 1 1/3 innings to earn the win.
