BEXLEY — Behind strong pitching and timely hitting, Marietta swept Capital — 6-2 and 4-3 — in an important OAC doubleheader on Saturday, April 18.
The Pioneers scored four runs in the first inning of game one behind Dan Munday's two-run single and Tom Mohl's RBI single. Ken Lisko also had a triple in the win. Jerry Bishop (5-1) picked up the complete-game win by allowing four hits.
In the second game, Lisko went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two stolen bases, while Mohl went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases as Marietta (33-2-3, 8-1) won 4-3.
Dave Stovall improved to 2-0 after striking out three and not allowing any hits over 3 2/3 innings of relief. Dale Hurst got the final two outs to secure his first save.
