PANAMA CITY, Fla. — Behind a three-hit performance by sophomore Jim Pancher, Marietta banged out 10 hits to defeat Valparaiso 10-6 on Friday, March 13.
Pancher had two singles and a triple, while stealing one base and driving in two runs as the Pioneers improved to 8-0-2. Junior Ken Lisko went 2-for-3 with a double and one run, while junior Tom Mohl had two RBI.
Junior starter John Burns improved to 2-0 with a six-strikeout performance over six innings. He also allowed just four hits and one unearned run. Sophomore Ted Payne picked up his second save of the season after recording the final out of the seventh inning.
