Timothy Barnum, a 1975 graduate and a four year letterman in both cross country and track, set a number of Pioneer records on his way to a ninth place finish (out of 485 contestants) and All-American recognition in the cross country nationals at Wheaton, Illinois as a sophomore. A four year Tom Lull Moat Valuable Player selection in cross country and a two time honoree as the Don Drumm MVP in track, Tim served as captain of both clubs his junior and senior seasons.
As a freshman, Tim broke five MC cross country record, leading his team to a 19-0 mark in Dual and Triangular Meets and a national ranking. The following year, Barnum led the Pioneers to a 17-1 mark an OAC Relay Championship. As a senior, Tim won the OAC Indoor Mile Track title and finished second in the conference outdoors.
Currently, Tim is a Broker for the Certified Oil Company. He and his wife Carol reside in Marietta.
