A 1965 graduate, Wright is a native of Johnson City, New York and now resides in Brea, California. He was a four-year letterman and baseball star for he Pioneers. He held the Ohio Athletic Conference runs-batted-in record from 1963 until 1975. As a pitcher he is fourth career strikeouts and fifth in innings pitched with 234.
In 1964 he was selected to the All-OAC team, Mike led the team in batting average in 1963, in earned run average in 1964, and was captain in 1965.
He was a batting practice pitcher for the Pittsburg Pirates in 1977-1978 and a Little League and American Legion coach as well as director for five years. Mike is a regional sales manager for American National Can Company.
