A 1970 graduate, Neely earned six letters in football and track. He was one of the greatest defensive lineman in MC history. He was second team All-Ohio Conference in 1967 and first team All-OAC in 1968. He was a student assistant coach under Head Coach Joe McDaniel in 1969. He was selected as and honorable mention member of the Alpha Sigma Phi All-Time football team.
After graduation, Larry coached football and track fore eight years at Brookville
High, leading the school to a state championship in track in 1973 and to a state runner-up finish in football in 1976. He was a state director for United Companies Financial Corporation for several years and is currently employed with the Salem Mall Hyundai dealership in Dayton, Ohio.
