Stanbery, a four year letterman in baseball and a tri-captain his senior seasons, graduated from MC in 1975. His four-year record with the Pioneers was 27-6, a sparkling .818 winning percentage. Kim was a First Team All-American in 1975, leading the club to the NCAA Division II World Series and a second pace finish to Florida Southern. While being named an All-American was a crowning achievement, he also earned numerous Ohio Athletic Conference and Regional NCAA honors and was recently inducted into the John Glenn High School Hall of Fame. In addition to a season-best earned run average of .90 in 1972, Kim also recorded single-season marks for wins (11), strikeouts (92) and inning pitched 990).
Promoted and transferred from Columbus, Ohio to Seattle, Washington in 1981, Kim spent fourteen years with Roadway Express. He was recently hired away by Chemlawn Services in Federal Way, Washington where he serves as Branch Manager for a staff of 60. He and his wife, Nancy (another 1975 MC graduate), live in the Pacific northwest with their six-year old son Ryan.
