Brown is one of the greatest multisport women athletes to ever come through Marietta College. She earned a total of eight varsity letters in basketball and softball.

As a member of the women’s basketball team, Brown scored a career 1,568 points, which currently puts her as the third all-time leading scorer in
Marietta College history. She still holds several individual records for field goal attempts and free throw attempts. Brown served as a co-captain of the women’s basketball squad in her junior and senior years. She was also selected to the All-OAC first team in 1988 and 1989.

On the softball field, Brown rewrote the MC record books for triples and stolen bases. In her junior and senior years she was team captain. In 1988 she earned All-OAC first team honors, along with first team All-Region honors. Brown repeated as a first team All-OAC selection in 1989, and she was also selected to the All-Region second team.


After graduating from
Marietta, Brown went to work for State Farm Insurance. She has worked for the company for the past ten years and most recently became a certified State Farm Agent.

Brown and her husband, Dennis Workman, reside in
Parkersburg, West Virginia.
