Vogt, of Fairfield, Ohio, a former first baseman with four varsity letters still holds the Marietta College career record for putouts with 1,171. Vogt was a valuable member on the Pioneers squad that reached the championship game of the 1975 World Series.
Vogt made the all-star team for the 1975 World Series and he was named second team All-Mideast Region in 1975. He was a four-time first team all-conference selection from 1973-76. He also played in the Cape Cod and Shenandoah collegiate baseball leagues.
“A lot of what I experienced at Marietta College seems like it happened just last month,” Vogt said. “What I did in baseball, socially and academically is still very vivid in my mind. Marietta College was a great experience.”
He is now a sales manager for the Midwest Filtration Company. Vogt and his wife, Carol, have two daughters.
