Schaly, a 1982 graduate of Marietta College, earned three varsity letters in baseball. He was named first team All-American in 1981, Schaly capped his career by earning first team All-American and third team Academic All-American honors in 1982.
Schaly was awarded several other honors during his playing career. He was named the most valuable player of the 1981 world series, the OAC’s most valuable player for the 1982 season and to several regional and world series all-tournament teams. The 1982 Way-Weigelt award winner, Schaly is the only Marietta College athlete to ever receive an NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship.
Schaly has complied an overall record of 241-171 in seven years as a collegiate head baseball coach. He is in his fourth year as athletic director and baseball coach at St. Leo College in Dade City, Florida.
Schaly and his wife Becky Manzo Schaly, a 1988 Marietta College graduate, have two children, Nicole and Adam.
