John Bowser, '36, won three letters each in football and basketball and two in crew- and lots pf honors. He captained MC's Ohio Conference championship basketball team of 1935-36 (the 15-3 record is ties for the fifth best in Pioneer history), which toppled West Virginia U., Bowling Green and Ohio U., and averaged 45 points to 33 in the days of the center-jump.
John was named all-Ohio (charter "famers" Don Whiting and Buzzy Davis league title was won 33-32 over Wittenberg in Springfield. Down seven with three minutes to play, John sank four buckets to clinch it.
He was an all-purpose football lineman under Head Coach Duke Hayes and Line Coach Don Drumm, also charter members of the Hall. He rowed in the varsity No. 7 seat for three seasons. He is retired businessman in Virginia Beach, Va.
