Jim Whiting. A prolific three-sport letterman, Jim was a member of the class of 1938. He died in 1982 at the age of 65. As a basketball player, he earned the three letters, was a member of the 1935-1936 Ohio Athletic Conference championships and gained All-OAC recognition. He was described as 'Greased Lightning" on the court. He also earned three letters in football and two more in golf.
Following graduation, Jim worked several years for Sun Oil Company and later was a manager for the Council and Industrial Division of Bishop Realty in Berea, Ohio. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was active in American Legion Affairs.
