Inselmann, of Malinta, Ohio, was a four-year letterwinner on the Marietta College baseball team, and he earned many honors for his outstanding play on the baseball field. In 1978, he was a second team All-OAC and a first team All-District IV selection. He also received first team All-American honors in 1978 as a designated hitter. In 1979, he was an honorable mention All-OAC and a third team All-District IV selection.
At the time of his graduation he was in the top five in the OAC in career RBIs, walks drawn, doubles, home runs, total bases and games played. He also set a school and conference record his senior year for single season doubles, with 17 total on the season.
Inselmann has been back on the baseball field, but this time as the head baseball coach first at Defiance High School and now at Patrick Henry High School. During his 19 years as a head coach, he has accumulated an impressive 314-95 coaching record.
Inselmann also teaches biology at Patrick Henry. He and his wife Jayne, have two sons, Jeff and Mike.
