Dorothy Klaiber was captain for the Pioneers from 2003-05 and won the Betty Cleland Award in 2005. She was a member of Marietta’s gold medal winning crew in the Division II/III Varsity Heavyweight 8+ at the 2004 Dad Vail Championship. Klaiber also won silver in 2005.
Klaiber earned Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association second team All-American honors in 2003 and 2004 and was a first team All-American in 2005. She was named Marietta College’s Oarswoman of the Year as a junior and senior and received the Lindamood Award, given to the top Pioneer rower male or female, in 2005.
A member of the McDonough Leadership program, Klaiber majored in Psychology with a minor in Human Resource Management. She went to receive a degree in School Psychology from Nova Southeastern University.
Klaiber worked as a school psychologist with Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8 in Colorado Springs, Colo. It was there where she met her husband, Derek Gibson. They have two children, Clara and Josephine. Currently, Klaiber works as a school psychologist with the Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia.
