Fatzinger played four years of baseball for legendary Pioneer skipper Don Schaly earning three varsity letters. He was a two-time All-American winning second team honors his junior and senior seasons.

The OAC Jack Rafeld Player of the Year in 1993, Fatzinger was named the first team All-OAC first baseman in 1993 and 1994. His .422 career batting still ranks third all-time in the OAC and second in Pioneer history. Fatzinger was also a two-time first team All-Mideast Region selection.

Fatzinger helped lead the Etta Express to four straight OAC Tournament Championships. The Pioneers finished in first place during the regular season and were the No. 1 seed and host for the OAC Tournament in each of those four years. Marietta also made four NCAA Mideast Regional appearances advancing to the World Series in 1991 and 1992.

Fatzinger earned a bachelor's degree in General Studies from Marietta College in 1994. He played baseball professionally with the Ohio Valley Redcoats of the Frontier League. Fatzinger has over 20 years experience in the mortgage industry and is currently self-employed. Fatzinger and his wife Erin, 1998 Marietta graduate, have three children, Carly, Addison and Noah.
