Brandi Yellin, who earned four varsity letters in softball and one in women’s soccer, was a member of the softball team from 1994-97 and played on the women’s soccer team in 1994. She was a standout pitcher during one of the best runs in school history. Yellin ranks fourth all-time in several career categories including wins (32), earned run average (2.24), shut outs (9), strikeouts (188) and innings pitched (359.6). During her sophomore and junior seasons, the Pioneers finished first in the OAC regular season. Yellin would lead Marietta to the 2006 OAC title and become the first team to advance to the NCAA tournament in program history. Yellin earned All-OAC recognition from 1995-97 and was a two-time all-region selection. When not toeing the rubber, Yellin played third base where she played flawless defense committing no errors her sophomore and junior seasons. Yellin was a standout in the classroom as well earning All-America Scholar Athlete honors in 1996 and being named the OAC Clyde Lamb recipient in 1997.
Yellin, who graduated with a degree in sports medicine, earned a master’s degree in exercise science from California University of Pennsylvania. She is currently teaching health and physical education at P.S. #21 in Paterson, New Jersey, and is also the athletic trainer at Passaic County Community College.
