Clark, of Bingham Farms, Mich., was known for his standout defensive play while starring for the Pioneer basketball team in the 1970s. Clark is among the leaders in rebounds at Marietta and in the Ohio Athletic Conference.

Clark, who was a force at 6-foot-6, scored 1,052 points, was a two-time member of the "Rip and Whip" club and was the team captain during the 1975-76 season. He was first team All-OAC in 1976 and played a key role during the Pioneers' 1974-75 OAC championship season.

"We had some pretty good teams back then," said Clark, who grew up in
Gallipolis, Ohio. "Those were some great times, especially when we played in the NCAA Tournament in 1975."

Clark, who works for International Harvester in
Michigan, earned for letters in basketball and one in track. He and his wife, Paula, have two children: Leigha, 16, and Lindsay, 8.

"I think raising those two is every bit as challenging as anything I've had to do in my life,"
Clark said.

He continues to play basketball about twice a week in a few winter leagues in
Michigan.

"I still love to play," he said. "I'm a real big fan of basketball."
