Allen Miller earned eight varsity letters in his career at Marietta College; four in football, three in wrestling and one in track and field. He was an All-Ohio Athletic Conference honoree in football and track.

Miller was a part of a Pioneer defense that limited opponents to just 66 points during the 1968 season. Marietta went 7-2 that season with four shutouts. The next season, Marietta finished 8-1 for its best record since 1906.

Serving as a tri-captain his senior season, Miller was named second team All-OAC. He would later be named to the Marietta College 1960’s All-Decade Defensive Team.

Miller earned All-OAC honors in track after placing fifth in the shot put with a throw of 51’-6” at the 1971 OAC Outdoor Championships. In addition to his varsity athletics, Miller was a member of the M-Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Weight Lifting Club.

Since graduating from Marietta College with a degree in Biology, Miller has worked in a variety of professions. He started his career as an educator teaching science and coaching wrestling. Miller earned several teaching awards and coached Marietta High School to a pair of Central Ohio League Wrestling Championships.

After leaving education, Miller sold laboratory equipment as a manufacturer’s representative in North and South Carolina and Virginia. He then returned to Marietta to serve as the Director of the Marietta YMCA. Miller has also served the local community as Marietta’s safety Service Director.

Miller and his wife Stephanie have one daughter, Emily. The couple currently resides in Marietta where he works as a Field Service Coordinator for EDI, a local company that manufactures equipment for the oil and gas industry.
