Football freshman running back Nick O’Neal (Mont Belvieu, Texas/Barbers Hill) was named the OAC Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Pioneers to a 47-37 win over Wilmington College in the Pioneers’ home opener. O’Neal rushed for 286 yards and five touchdowns on 42 carries. In addition to the touchdowns, O’Neal also scored a pair of two-point conversions to account for 34 of Marietta’s points. His five touchdowns were the most by a Pioneer since 2000 and we MC’s first 200-yard rusher since 2004.
