Junior coxswain Megan Oxley (Clarksburg, N.J./Allentown) piloted the women’s varsity 8+ shell to a come from behind victory in the Neuweiler Plate Regatta last weekend. Rowing from behind most of the race, the varsity 8+ crew pushed ahead of Lehigh University in the last 200 meters to win by less than a second. The Pioneers crossed the line in 6:46.73 just ahead of Lehigh's 6:47.50. Penn State was third (6:51.96) followed by Franklin & Marshall (7:07.20), Lafayette (7:15.16) and Susquehanna (7:41.21). In addition to Oxley, the Pioneers’ lineup included Abigail Klicker in the stroke seat, Katie Transue, Ricci Davis, April Pendergrass, Trisha Wendel, Isabella Hildebrandt, Stephanie Meinert and Alyse McNeill in the bow.
