Marietta women's soccer falls at Capital 3-0
Lady Pioneers manage just two shots in the loss

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Marietta College women's soccer team fell 3-0 to host Capital University Wednesday (Oct. 17) afternoon at Bernlohr Stadium.
The loss drops the Lady Pioneers' record to 7-6-1 overall and 2-4 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Crusaders improved to 10-4-1, 5-1 in the OAC.
Natasha Ballard gave Capital a 1-0 lead in the 8th minute when she scored off an assist from Abby Skoda. Katie Robinson increased the Crusaders' lead to 2-0 in the 21st minute. She was assisted by Molly Shells. Ballard then assisted teammate Paige Prescott, who scored the third goal of the game, in the 60th minute.
Freshman Helen Hetzel (Radnor/Buckeye Valley) faced 16 shots and made five saves in the loss. The Pioneers had just two shots on the day and neither of them were on goal.
Marietta closes out the home portion of its schedule Friday (Oct. 19) against Heidelberg. The game, which will begin at 4 p.m., is Senior Day for the Lady Pioneers. |
