Lady Pioneers battle host Cavaliers to a 0-0 tie
Hetzel makes six saves in goal

CANTON, Ohio — The Marietta College women’s soccer team traveled to Walsh University Tuesday (Sept. 25) afternoon for its final non conference test before beginning Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play.

The two teams battled for 110 minutes but neither could crack the other’s defense for a goal.

Marietta (5-2-1) out-shot Walsh (7-2-1) 11-9, but the Cavaliers held the 6-3 advantage in shots on goal.

Freshman goalkeeper Helen Hetzel (Radnor/Buckeye Valley) collected six saves for Marietta, while Rachel Burger had three for Walsh.

The Pioneers now turn their attention to OAC play. First on the schedule is rival Otterbein. The game will take place Saturday (Sept. 29) at 12 p.m. in Westerville.
