MARIETTA, Ohio — Marietta College sophomore rower Lauren Talasnik (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) was recently selected as NCAA Division III Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) National Scholar-Athlete.
Talasnik, a biology major, was the coxswain for the women’s varsity eight throughout the 2007-08 season. She helped Marietta compile a 19-21 overall, head-to-head record this spring, which featured a third place finish at the Mid-Atlantic D-III Regional Championship in late April.
The CRCA National Scholar-Athlete must have a minimum of a 3.5 grade point average for her career, be at least a sophomore standing and have rowed for a minimum of 75% of the current spring races. 437 student-athletes, including 78 from NCAA Division III, earned CRCA National Scholar-Athlete honors in 2008. |
