Marietta College to open 2004-05 basketball season with Midnight Madness Friday night

MARIETTA, Ohio - The Marietta College men's and women's basketball teams are getting ready to start another season on the hardwood in 2004. They will kick off the practice season Friday night (Oct. 15) with Midnight Madness at Ban Johnson Arena.

Festivities will begin at 11 p.m. with a coaches versus students' basketball game. The 2004-05 men's and women's teams will take the floor to warm up at midnight.

The members of each team will then be introduced following a performance by the MC Cheerleaders. After the performace, a three-point contest is scheduled between representatives of each team.

At 12:15 a.m., the women's basketball team will scrimmage. After a performance by the Marietta College dance team, the men's basketball team will scrimmage.

The event will conclude with a three-point competition for fans in attendance. Food will be available. Prizes will also be awarded. Admission is free and doors open at 11 p.m.
