Pioneers compete on Saturday at Wilmington Invitational

NEW ORLEANS, La. — The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) released its second NCAA Division III Coaches Power Rankings of the outdoor season on April 15, and Head Coach Derek Stanley's Marietta College women’s team (199.25 points) was voted No. 25 in the poll, while the Pioneer men (219.37 points) sat 39th.
Calvin (Mich.) College (261.83 points) was atop the women's rankings, which included 51 schools that reported their marks. Whitworth (Wash.) University (307.88 points) received the highest ranking in the men's division, which listed 60 institutions.
No. 7 Ohio Northern University (282.69 points) was the only Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) school to crack the top 25 in the men's rankings. In addition to Marietta, the women's rankings featured No. 10 Baldwin-Wallace College (235.45 points), No. 14 Otterbein College (227.32 points) and No. 21 Ohio Northern University (208.87 points) in the top 25.
Marietta is back in action on Saturday (April 19) when the Pioneers participate in the Wilmington College Invitational, their final tune-up for the OAC Championship, which will also be hosted by Wilmington on April 25-26. |
