Marietta's Kovacevich named OAC Field Athlete of the Week
Junior performed well in Hammer Throw and Shot Put at Wake Forest Open

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio — The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) office announced its weekly awards Monday (March 24) afternoon and Marietta College junior throws specialist Tiffany Kovacevich (Strongsville) earned Women's Field Athlete of the Week honors.

Kovacevich and the Pioneers competed at the Wake Forest Open March 20-21. She took 18th place in the Hammer Throw with a mark of 41.20m (135-02) and then placed 30th in the Shot Put with a mark of 11.11m (36-05.50) against predominately Division I competition. Kovacevich was also the Field Athlete of the Week once during the indoor season.

Marietta is back in action on Saturday (March 29) when it hosts half of the Ohio Athletic Conference schools for the OAC Gold Meet at Don Drumm Stadium. Activity begins at 1 p.m. and will conclude about 6 p.m.
