| Marietta kicks off Winter Weekend with Open Alumni Meet
Select Pioneers to compete at All-Ohio Championship on Saturday

MARIETTA, Ohio — The Marietta College track & field team helped kick off the school's annual Winter Weekend festivities with an Open Alumni Meet Friday (Feb. 15) evening inside the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center. The Pioneers, who did compete with their entire squad, finished sixth in the women's rankings with 51 points and eighth in the men's rankings with 28 points. In addition to the current Marietta student-athletes, the competition also brought back a handful of Pioneer alums, who were able to relive their collegiate track & field experiences while back on campus.
Wheeling Jesuit (W.Va.) captured the women's title with 148, while West Virginia Wesleyan (122 points) and Concord (W.Va.) (106 points) placed second and third, respectively. West Virginia Wesleyan (142.33 points) and Wheeling Jesuit (134 points) swapped spots in the men's standings, while Concord (119.50 points) placed third.
Sophomore Shannon McDonald (Lorain/Amherst Steele) won the women's 5,000m Run after crossing the line in 19:55.48. Freshman Olivia Holiday (Malta/Morgan) won the women's Pole Vault by clearing 3.05m (10-00.00). Sophomore Sarita Dhiraprasiddhi (Hilliard/Darby) placed second in the women's Triple Jump, finishing with a top mark of 9.81m (32-02.25).
Freshman Max Kenngott (Akron/St. Vincent-St. Mary) finished sixth in the 3,000m with a time of 9:27.11, which is the fastest time in the race that Derek Stanley has ever coached.
Select members of the squad will also compete Saturday (Feb. 16) at the All-Ohio Championships, which are being hosted by Otterbein College in Westerville. Action begins at 11 a.m. The full team will be back in action Saturday (Feb. 23) when the Pioneers host the Marietta Open #3.
