ADA, Ohio — The Marietta College track & field team wrapped up its competition on day one of the 2007 Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Championships Friday (March 2) evening on the campus of Ohio Northern. The Pioneer women scored the school’s only points on opening day, earning three points when its Distance Medley Relay (DMR) placed fifth with a school record performance.

Baldwin-Wallace's women (24 points) hold a slim lead over Ohio Northern (23 points) and Mount Union (22 points) in the standings. In the men’s competition, Ohio Northern (24 points) is leading the championship, while Heidelberg (22 points) and Mount Union (10 points) are currently second and third, respectively.

Marietta's DMR, which consisted of Randi Robertson (Avon Lake), Jessi Larrison (Batavia), Sheena Spencer (Marietta) and Brea Gardner (Sheridan/Somerset) combined to shatter the school record en route to a fifth place finish and three points for the team. The relay crossed the line in 12:57.02, breaking the previous record of 13:06.12.
