Marietta women fall to Mount Union 7-2
Carraher improves win streak to 17 matches

MARIETTA, Ohio — The Marietta College women’s tennis team fell to the visiting Mount Union College 7-2 on Tuesday (April 15) afternoon at the Beren Tennis Center. The Pioneers fell to 3-5 overall and 2-5 in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC). Mount Union improved to 13-5 overall and 7-1 in the OAC.

Marietta junior Amanda Carraher (Hilliard/Hilliard Davidson) remained undefeated with an 8-6, 6-3 victory at first singles. The win was Carraher’s 17th straight, dating back to 2007. Carraher with her partner Lauren McKiernan (Parkersburg, W.Va./South) were also victorious in first doubles, winning 8-6.

Marietta will look to bounce back on Wednesday (April 16) afternoon when it will host Northwestern (Ohio) at 3 p.m. at the Beren Tennis Center.
