Marietta men open 2008 tennis season with loss to Ohio Northern
Pioneers will take on Notre Dame in home opener on Monday

ADA, Ohio — Head Coach Mike Snell's men's tennis team opened up the 2008 season Wednesday (March 19) with a 9-0 road loss to defending Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) champion Ohio Northern University at the ONU Sports Center. The Pioneers fell to 0-1, 0-1 in the OAC. The Polar Bears improved to 5-3, 2-0 in league play.

The Pioneers managed just two points in singles action, one by senior Mark Briggs (Westerville/South) in the second set of second singles and the other by sophomore Andrew Bolton (Timonium, Md./Calvert Hall) in the first set of fourth singles. Briggs and senior Ryan Callihan (Stout/Portsmouth West) also took a point off ONU in first doubles.

Marietta is back in action on Monday (March 24) afternoon when it plays host to Notre Dame College in a 3:30 p.m. match at the Beren Tennis Center.
