Apr. 16, 2007
AUSTINTOWN, Ohio — The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) office announced its weekly awards Monday (Apr. 16) afternoon, and Marietta College women's tennis standout Amanda Carraher (Hilliard/Davidson) was named the OAC Player of the Week for her efforts during the week of April 9-15.
Carraher went 2-0 at first singles in matches against Otterbein and Baldwin-Wallace. On Saturday (Apr. 14), she also accomplished something no other OAC women's tennis player has done over the last four years; she defeated Baldwin-Wallace's two-time OAC Player of the Year Andrea Isaac.
Carraher, who has now won six straight matches and improved to 7-1 on the season, snapped Isaac's 40-match win streak in OAC play. She improved to 16-3 in her career with the Pioneers.
Carraher, who had to miss Monday's match at Heidelberg because of lab, will lead the Pioneers back in action Tuesday (Apr. 17), when they travel to Alliance to take on Mount Union at 3:30 p.m.
